However cyclone ,aila formed in the bay of bengal,crossed bangladesh south-western coast on may 25,2009 with wind speeds70-90km per hour,triggering an abnormally high tidal surge and heavy rains in the coastal region.352unions and 62 upazilas in 14coastal districts-barisal,bhola,pirojpur,patuakhali,barguna,jhalakathi,khulna,chittagong,cox's bazar,luxmipur,feni and noakhali had been affected by cyclone.Some 33,44,229 people of 6,37,687 families were affected by aila in the coastal belt.The cyclone killed nearly 200people and injured some 6,665people.1120people werw not found and 2,00,000 people were trapped in water

Flood is a natural calamity.Bangladesh fall victim to this flood every year.During flood men and other animals suffer untold miseries. After flood various diseases like diarrhoea and cholera break out in an epidemic from.So flood is a serious problem for our country.
THOUSAND MAROONED ACROSS COUNTRY IN BANGLADESH.
Incessant rain couplet with tidal surges since wednesday disrupted normal life and business throughout the country and left several thowsand people marooned.
The rain and tidal surges washed away many thstched houses and caused river erosion in many areas,especially in the coastal districts of cox's bazar, bagerhat, satkhira and patuakhali.
Sufferings of the poor in these districts have intensified as the rainwater and swelling rivers flooded crop fields and washed away shrimp enclosures with tidal surges danaging many embankents.
Heavy rainfall also led to water logging at different parts in capital city.
